After earning her law degree, she worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Michael J. Barrasse of the Court of Common Pleas of Lackawanna County and practiced insurance litigation. Melissa has been working with attorney Luckenbill since 2003. She concentrates her practice representing people and families who have had insurance claims unfairly denied by their insurance companies, including long term disability claims governed by ERISA, serious personal injury claims and family law matters.
Attorney Foley is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is the former vice president of the Association of Women Lawyers of Lackawanna County. Ms. Foley served on the Board of Directors of the Lackawanna Bar Association and continues to hear fee disputes on the Fee Dispute Committee. Through the bar association, she has worked on various community service projects, including Bowl for
Kid’s Sake, Operation Dear Santa, Project Kid Care, Saint Joseph’s Festival and Saint Francis of Assisi Kitchen. In January 2003, she was the recipient of the Exemplary Service Award presented by the Lackawanna Bar Association for her dedicated service and valued contributions to her community and to the bar association in serving as the Regional Coordinator of the Mock Trial program.
In addition, Ms. Foley is the former president of the of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Resource Center where she remains a member its legal committee. She is a member of the Everhart Museum Associates and served as co-chair of the Everhart Ball in 2004 and 2005. Attorney Foley also volunteered served on the committee for the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s annual fund raiser, Its All in the Game.
Ms. Foley is the daughter of John and Joan Foley, Dunmore. She resides in the Abingtons with her two children.
